Laryngostroboscopy

Laryngostroboscopy is a method to obtain video images with intermittent illumination of the vocal folds through endoscopes. Such images are recorded in digital systems and can be reproduced as an entire video or frame by frame, so the analysis of movement is possible. Currently, stroboscopy is the most used method around the world for diagnosis of voice problems; it allows the detection of anatomical changes of the vocal folds and the definition of the consequent vibratory changes.

What we see in the video is not real time, it is an illusion of movement, but it gives valuable information that facilitates decision making regarding treatment. Besides, it is fundamental in the follow up of treatment results, because any improvement in vibration can be seen.
Without this kind of diagnostic evaluations it is impossible to come close to accurate diagnosis in cases of voice problems.
